Red Kite Neighbourhood Award : Project of the Year

Hazlemere Parish Council were delighted to win the first ever Red Kite Neighbourhood Award : Project of the Year for the Bee Squared Project.

BEE SQUARED was an exciting new project envisioned by Hazlemere Cimate Action Now and Hazlemere Parish Council. We invited the entire community to brighten up Hazlemere and help our bees and other pollinators which have massively declined over the past 50 years. During Spiring 2021, over 4,000 packets of wildflower seeds were delivered to Hazlemere and the surrounding areas to encourage people to make a ‘Bee Square’.

We were thrilled with the community engagement and we are pleased to have rolled out the project again in 2022. We continue to receive monthly requests from other Town and Parish Councils looking to replicate this project in their area.
