Buckinghamshire Council wants to hear from you

Buckinghamshire Council want to hear the views of local residents and organisations on the Neighbourhood Plan for Hazlemere.

The link below will open a new webpage for further details.

Hazlemere Neighbourhood Plan submission consultation – Your Voice Bucks – Citizen Space

In September 2021, the Parish of Hazlemere was designated a Neighbourhood Area by Buckinghamshire Council. This followed an application by Hazlemere Parish Council.

Hazlemere Parish Council has now completed a period of local community engagement on the Hazlemere Neighbourhood Plan and have submitted the final version to us.

The next stage of the process is for us, as the local authority, to carry out a public consultation on the submitted plan.

This is a final opportunity for local people to comment on the modified plan before it goes to independent examination.

The Hazlemere Neighbourhood Plans policies relate to:

  • Delivering homes for first time buyers and downsizers
  • Protecting and improving green Infrastructure
  • Delivering zero carbon buildings
  • Promoting sustainable transport
  • Planning for sustainable development at Amersham Road / Tralee Farm

Hazlemere Parish Neighbourhood Plan - where are we now?

We are pleased to inform our residents that we have reached the next stage in the creation of the Hazlemere Neighbourhood Plan.  Having submitted the Neighbourhood Plan to Buckinghamshire Council, they are now responsible for taking it forward beginning with a public consultation (Regulation 16) at a date in the near future.

Any comments made during publication of the plan will be passed directly to an independent examiner whose role it is to assess the plan and consider whether it meets the basic conditions and other legal requirements.

If successful at the examination stage, with modifications if necessary, then Buckinghamshire Council will arrange for a neighbourhood plan referendum. If there is a majority yes vote, then our neighbourhood plan is made which will affect what can be built and where in Hazlemere Parish up until 2033.
